Crate and Barrel Summer Sale

Posted by The Frugal Diva on 9th June 2010

Summer time is stock up time at Crate and Barrel. If you have been yearning to update your home with place-mats, dinnerware, or new wine glasses- go for it this month.

Now they have something with my favorite word in it. You guessed it a FREE 45 minute design consultation. What a great way to rethink your decorating ideas and get some insight into drapery choices, what style suits you best, and why you really need to throw out that bean bag chair.  Of course, they will try and sell you during the consultation however a Frugal Diva is well trained in resisting any sales pitch.

Check out individual stores for select items that will be on sale for up to 40% off regular prices, and will include discontinued merchandise, floor sample furniture and accessories!  See if wedding/shower registries have sale items before you send that gift and do a little holiday shopping in advance.

My favorite is this tumbler in various sizes. Easy stack to save space, dishwasher safe, and bistro style make it a winner for all types of entertaining. You will never have to use paper cups when entertaining once you lay in a stock of these easy to store glasses.

Brentwood Country Mart Sale

Posted by The Frugal Diva on 27th January 2010

It can be a little pricey here so now is the time to shop at the Brentwood Country Mart at San Vicente and 26th. They are having a semi annual sale that lasts until January 31 and items are up to fifty percent off.  Parking is free, they have a little food court including Barney’s Burgers, Frida’s Mexican Food and Reddi Chick Rotissarie Chicken.

They have some great little boutiques including James Pearse of the super soft t shirts, Jigsaw an established London designer with an eclectic mix, Calypso for clothes and accessories from around the world, and many more. There is a Diesel Book Store where they have free author readings and talks. There is also an adorable little post office that is generally uncrowded.

Now the hours during the week are only till seven for the food court and six for most of the stores so you might want to check out the sale on Saturday or Sunday. It’s out doors, the food is good – so even if you don’t buy it’s a fun day.
