Vita Cost

Posted by The Frugal Diva on 5th January 2011

There are so many fantastic deals on the Vita Cost site I don’t know where to begin. Vitamins, shampoos, organic foods, protein powders, herbs, and homeopathy are just a few of the items covered.

Let’s start with organic products – 22 ounces of Organic Raw Honey for $6.35, 8 ounces of organic shredded coconut for $2.68, 12 ounces organic whole bean French Roast for $8.20, 16 ounces of Arrowhead Mills organic flax seed for $2.70!

Moving right along to shampoos- 11 ounces of Kiss My Face Whenever Shampoo for $4.19, 32 ounces of Avalon Nourishing Lavender Shampoo for $10.67,  18 ounces Nature’s Gate Pomegranate Sunflower Shampoo for $3.90!

Organic Agave sweetener 23.5 ounces for $6.53!

Seventh Generation Natural Laundry Detergent White Flower and Bergamot Citrus 7 lbs for $13.73!

And Aubreys, Alba Botanica, Burts Bees, Jason, Zia!

So many types of vitamins and herbs that you are going to have to see for yourself!

Now The Frugal Diva knows what you are thinking. What in the world is it going to cost to ship all this? $4.99 per order – that means if you get one item, two items, or ten items it will cost you $4.99 shipping.

And as a diva it’s so nice to have things appear at your doorstep without having to schlep out to the store.

Bed, Bath, And Way Beyond

Posted by The Frugal Diva on 16th August 2010

Now divas need a certain level of care – great shampoos, lavender soaps, electric toothbrushes- and my local Bed, Bath, and Beyond  at 11854 West Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90064 (PH 310 478 5767) stocks these items. They have a new Health and Beauty Care department that carries a raft of drugstore items and speciality brands such as Nature’s Gate  and the Natural Dentist  products.

the-natural-dentist3The prices are good however when you apply the coupons that we all carry in our purses and cars, they are fabulous. Now the Natural Dentist mouthwash which was featured in Oprah on The Best List, can cost $9.99 at regular price (read the next paragraph to learn about the new drop in price).  However coupons make this all so much better. Either buy alone and get 20% off bringing the price down to around $7.99.  Or pick up another item for $5 such as shampoo or soap or protein bars and bring this down to $6.99. Last time that I purchased this product they were doing a special and added a tube of their toothpaste for free. So we are talking about a great product that gives you mouthwash and toothpaste for as little as $6.99.  All prices that are quoted here are approximate and could change in the future.

The Natural Dentist recently announced a drop in retail prices (up to 30%) for all mouth rinses to make natural oral care more accessible.  This includes the Antigingivitis Rinse, Pre-Brush Whitening Rinse, Healthy Gums Mouth Rinse, Healthy Teeth Anticavity Fluoride Rinse and Healthy Teeth Fluoride Rinse.  These rinses have decreased from $9.99 to a suggested retail price of $6.99 for a 16-ounce bottle.  For a limited time only, The Natural Dentist is offering a coupon for $2 off any toothpaste  from The Natural Dentist. Frugal Divas take advantage of this for even great savings!

Bed, Bath and Beyond HBC department also carries travel size products, reading glasses, and all kinds of grooming products for women, men and children. The selection is extensive and changes periodicatlly so look for new organic products and protein bars.  Not all Bed, Bath and Beyonds have this department so please check your store locator for the HBC symbol before heading out.

99 Cents Buys Amazing Items

Posted by The Frugal Diva on 22nd June 2010

Yes, all Frugal Divas know about the 99 Cent Only Store  however they continue to amaze me.  How did that song go “99 bottles of shampoo on the wall.”  Well, just about – along with Epsom Salts for a spa bath, band aids for cuts, toothbrushes, scrunchies, manicure products, household cleaning products, envelopes, and the list goes on.

Dinner tonight? Spaghetti, tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese, french bread, and salad – all for under $5 and you have dinner for four.  Vegetarian, healthy, tasty, and bought in one store on the way home.  The combinations are endless. The 99 Cent Only Store has really gone out of their way to offer you more choices for cooking when times are tough.

Though he is not affiliated with the store, Billy Vasquez  The 99 Cent Chef  has fabulous ideas for using  ingredients that cost 99 cents.  He’s got recipes, cheap restaurant tips, and fun adventures in Las Vegas!  I love this blog for quick cooking ideas and finding out of the way markets.  Not only a fantastic cook, Billy’s photographs make each post visually delicious.

Party supplies! Everything from paper plates, paper cups, table clothes, and all kinds of cute items to set your table with for the next special occasion. Why pay $3 to $4 dollars for a greeting card. They have them here for 99 Cents.  When did gift bags become more expense then the gift?  Buy two for 99 Cents.

And bring your own shopping bags because the 99 Cent Only Stores are working to reuse and recycle. They are charging for plastic bags to encourage you to bring your own. This makes me like them all the more because the Frugal Diva knows that they are working to help the environment.
