The Frugal Diva

Tennessee Vacation

The Frugal Dude loves to tour a state or neighboring states and soak up the local culture. My initial reaction was if one isn’t going to a major metropolitan area why bother? It took awhile to convince me to even set foot in certain areas.  Now The Frugal Diva likes nothing better then to explore what were once just names on a map. From the first breakfast at the famous Loveless Cafe to Country Music Hall of Fame, Nashville was a lovely city that had restored many of its original venues including the train station and the original…

Easy Trader Joe’s Combos

Trader Joe started out in the Los Angeles area and the inhabitants consider it more a playground then a store. We call it TJs or the Trader and they need no advertising to bring us inside. With it’s combination of healthy food and ever changing snacks and possibilities for meals, we just gravitate there as if it was a friend’s house. Now that they have spread across the country, the Frugal Diva would like to share her quick combos. These are more guidelines then recipes. Easy Gazpacho Garden Patch Juice, Cucumber, Green Onion, Cilantro-Throw a…

Do you really need…

My New Printer

It has a bold concept, an eco-friendly printer that used ink bottles instead of cartridges. A bit higher initial investment but it turned out to be soooo worthwhile. Though most of us have given up any paper printing, there is still the occasional need. Plus it means that there is a copier and scanner in the house. Those teensy little cartridges were only good for a few sheets and then it was back to Staples. The cartridges where the bane of my existence.  At times it seemed cheaper to buy a new printer then pay for a new set…
